Description
Youth Camp is a place where youths come to have the opportunity to explore, grow and create lasting relationships.
The theme of this year is "Awaken." We hope that we can awaken kindness, awaken understanding, love, and listening. As part of the Youth Camp experience, we would like campers to provide input on the programming and shared leadership of their camp. Input from the survey filled out upon registration will give the staff a true idea of what the campers want from their experience here at Ferry Beach.
The goal of Youth Camp is to tie in the amazing camp experience with the mission of Ferry Beach by helping campers grow in the areas of: Arts & Culture, Education, Spirituality, Sustainability, Personal Growth and Justice & Action through their preferred interests at an age appropriate and engaging level.
In the Morning, each camper selects an activity focus for their Morning Tracks: Spiritual art, Theater for the soul, or compassionate Outdoor adventures.
The Afternoons will consist of stand-alone workshops planned and implemented by youth and adult staff together. Workshops have included volleyball, dance, drawing, trail walking/ecology exploration, and other group games. Of course, there is always time for hanging out with friends on the beach.
Evenings are spent relaxing and socializing during planned activities such as socials, a bonfire and singing. There will also be a bridging ceremony for the seniors that cannot be matched.
This year, come to camp with a purpose: To Awaken your spirit, reconnect and create long-lasting friendships, enjoy new and shared experiences with your peers and…HAVE FUN!
- Grades 4-6: Kids for the Earth (KFTE)
- Grades 7-9: Different Drummers (DD)
- Grades 10-12: FUUTURES
