The Beach Getaway - cultivating joy and community through play!
Come play with us! If you aged out of summer camp years ago but still long for the camaraderie and activities of camp, the Beach Getaway is for you. Join us for arts and crafts, games, New England country dance, a Bocce tournament, PickleBall, a book discussion, beach time, singalongs, and more. Our activities are geared for adults of all ages and abilities. Our art project celebrates Ferry Beach’s 125th Anniversary: we’ll create paperdolls of ourselves in period costume (including swimwear) from 1901 to the present. An optional afternoon field trip is also in the works, thanks to longtime Getaway-ers Barbara and Betsy. Please contact the coordinators for the latest developments on this plan. The pace is yours: take it all in or step away and simply enjoy the beach or the rocking chairs that look out over the ocean, take time to walk, hang out on the beach, create on your own, or visit with friends. The Getaway is a great experience for single folks, adult children and their parents, friends, couples, siblings or small adult groups. We are mostly women; men and non-binary folks are welcome. *Book to read in advance*: The Awakening by Kate Chopin (published shortly before 1901) Minister of the Week: Thea Shapiro Coordinators: Heidi Hertel-Therrien [email protected] Louise Marcoux [email protected] We hope to see you for this special beach getaway! |
