Description
Sacred Circle Dance is BACK for beginners and enthusiasts! Enjoy a five-night retreat into the special energies of Sacred Circle Dance with ample opportunities for down time, swimming, or exploring the beautiful coast of southern Maine. The Dance Camp will be a safe gathering pursuant to Ferry Beach’s thorough safety procedures, with likely adjustments to the normal circle patterns and formations.
Sacred Circle Dance brings people together for an experience of intentional community, mindfulness, and dances both old and new. Many dances have roots in cultures from around the world (including Balkan, Greek, and Celtic), while others are newly choreographed. The dances include moving meditations and lively, spirited dances. “Sacred” refers to the intention to create a reflective experience, even for lively dances.
Dance steps are simple, repetitive, and easy to learn - NO partners or previous dance experience needed and all dances are taught each time. Sacred Circle Dance embraces a universal welcome and inclusion, with a tradition of “There are no mistakes, only variations.”
This is a different type of “dance camp” experience, featuring a central campus for lodging and meals and a beautiful private beach. Newcomers will find at Ferry Beach a unique retreat environment with a variety of food and housing options (including camping, dorms, and limited deluxe cottages). Coordinators Ron Willett and Kaeza Fearn are developing a schedule to mix dance sessions with free time. Additional dance facilitators will be Evi Beck, Bobbi Bailin and Judith Walton.
Due to space limitations, registration is limited to 35.

Evi Beck
Washington, DC
Evi has been dancing all her life, but when she found Sacred Circle Dance nearly two decades ago, she knew she had come home. She is delighted to be returning to Ferry Beach, where she participated in World Dance with Mara. Evi has had several different careers—as a university professor of literature and founder of women’s studies, as a psychotherapist, and as a teacher of Sacred Circle Dance which she brings into these other worlds where it is sorely needed. Evi studied dance with a wide variety of teachers, including the founders of sacred circle dance at Findhorn, and has wide experience teaching the dance in circles across the United States, in Mexico and Europe. She currently facilitates three circles in her tristate area of Washington, D.C, Virginia, and Maryland. To the dance, she brings all of her previous experience and joy of working with groups in community. She believes our dance is not only healing, but transformational. It is an essential part of her spiritual practice.
Ron Willett
Lowell, Massachusetts
Ron has been active in sacred circle dance since 2001 when he found a circle in Arlington, VA, where he was living. Since 2003 he has been leading dances and he facilitates a monthly circle in Littleton, MA. Ron is an active member of the Gayla brotherhood that has emerged from Ferry Beach’s annual Gayla Conference, now in its 40th year. Since 2013 he has been on the Ferry Beach Board of Directors and currently serves as the Board’s secretary. As an attorney now retired after 35 years in the federal government, Ron moved to Lowell in 2010 to realize a long-held desire to live in New England, where he is married to his longtime companion Bill Mitchell. In 2013 he joined a small group that received circle dance training at the Findhorn Institute in Scotland and he enjoys travel to various Sacred Circle Dance retreats and events throughout the year.
Kaeza Fearn
