Come enjoy flow yoga on Mondays & Saturdays!
|
Class Dates:
Mondays- May 11, 18 & 25, 2026 (5:30-6:30pm) Saturdays- May 16, 23, 30, 2026 (8-9am) Step onto the mat for the first time or return to the beginning — this welcoming workshop is designed for complete beginners and those looking to rebuild a gentle foundation in yoga. Spread across three Monday evenings, this program gives you space to learn gradually, with each session building naturally on the last. What to Expect: In each Monday class, we'll move through the foundational postures of our Fluid Yoga practice at an unhurried pace. No flexibility or prior experience is needed — just an open mind and comfortable clothing. You'll learn how to breathe with your body, find safe alignment in standing, seated, and supine poses, and begin to understand how the practice can become a tool for everyday wellbeing. Modifications and props will be available throughout, so the practice meets you exactly where you are. A BONUS... As a bonus, each week's Monday session includes free entry to that week's Saturday class; a wonderful opportunity to reinforce what you've learned and begin to settle into a regular rhythm of practice before the week is out. We'll close every session with an extended yoga nidra — the ancient practice of "yogic sleep." Lying in complete stillness, you'll be guided through a deeply restorative body scan and visualization that brings the nervous system into a state of profound rest. Yoga nidra is accessible to absolutely everyone regardless of physical ability, and many people describe a single session as equivalent to several hours of deep sleep. It's the perfect way to integrate everything the body has absorbed during the movement practice. By the end of the three weeks, you'll have a solid grounding in the fundamentals, a taste of regular practice, and a toolkit to carry with you long after the workshop ends. What's included: 3 Monday workshops + 3 complimentary Saturday classes (one per week), a total of 6 yoga sessions! What to bring: Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Mats, blocks, blankets, and bolsters are provided. A warm layer for yoga nidra is recommended. Suitable for: Complete beginners, those returning after a break, anyone curious about yoga nidra, and anyone who simply needs to slow down. Meet your Yoga Instructor:Oldriska is a yoga instructor in Biddeford Maine, where her drive to grace the lives of others with nourishing energy and movement became so much more than a reflex. She brings a radiant, down-to-earth energy into every room she enters—equal parts intentional, intuitive, and just plain fun to be around. Oldriska is detail oriented, with a meticulous approach to bodily alignment and integrity of a yoga practice. Whether she’s cueing breathwork or finding a moment to giggle, Oldriska makes you feel seen, supported, and right at home.
A lifelong mover, Oldriska grew up training as a ballerina—an experience that laid the foundation for her deep connection to the body and its capacity for expression and healing. She came to yoga during the early days of the pandemic, when a career pivot into computer science meant long hours sitting at a screen. What began as a few casual classes with friends soon became a deeper wellness journey. Yoga offered not just a path back to movement, but a more holistic way of living—one that’s grounded, nourishing, and awake. Oldriska was drawn to yoga teacher training to deepen her own practice, but it wasn’t long before the idea of teaching others took root. A friend suggested she host a session at a conference, and something clicked. Teaching felt like a calling—especially once she started thinking about time differently. One of her biggest personal inspirations is Four Thousand Weeks: Time Management for Mortals by Oliver Burkeman. The book invites readers to accept the limits of our time on Earth—roughly 4,000 weeks in an average life—and to let go of the pressure to do it all. Instead, it’s about choosing what matters most. For Oldriska, yoga embodies that philosophy. It’s a way of slowing down, paying attention, and spending time with purpose. Her classes are upbeat, supportive, and infused with youthful energy. She’s especially excited about making yoga more accessible through offerings like chair yoga—perfect for older adults, people who spend too much time sitting, or anyone looking for a gentler way to move. Raised in a small Czech community in Texas, Oldriska found chosen family and a deep sense of belonging in Maine. That experience informs her teaching and her presence—she offers compassion freely and creates a space where everyone feels safe, seen, and accepted. She doesn’t take herself too seriously, but she takes her role as a guide seriously: to help others connect to their bodies, breath, and sense of purpose—one week, one class, one moment at a time. |
