The fluid nature of this practice allows every transition to feel natural and intuitive, honoring where your body is today. Whether you are new to Fluid Yoga or a seasoned practitioner, this class offers a welcoming space to explore movement, deepen your breath, and reconnect with yourself. All levels welcome. Roll out your mat and let yourself flow. *When the weather is nice, we will have class directly on the beach!* If the weather is forecasted to have precipitation or is too cool to be outside... we will hold the yoga class in one of the Ferry Beach buildings (in either cross conference room, the rose pavilion or south room in Rowland Hall.. there will be a sign or the instructor will post it on her social media- instagram: mayura_path). What to Bring: **Please bring your own yoga mat**. If you forget your mat, we will generally have a limited supply of extras available. Meet your Yoga Instructor: Oldriska is a yoga instructor in Biddeford Maine, where her drive to grace the lives of others with nourishing energy and movement became so much more than a reflex. She brings a radiant, down-to-earth energy into every room she enters—equal parts intentional, intuitive, and just plain fun to be around. Oldriska is detail oriented, with a meticulous approach to bodily alignment and integrity of a yoga practice. Whether she’s cueing breathwork or finding a moment to giggle, Oldriska makes you feel seen, supported, and right at home.
A lifelong mover, Oldriska grew up training as a ballerina—an experience that laid the foundation for her deep connection to the body and its capacity for expression and healing. She came to yoga during the early days of the pandemic, when a career pivot into computer science meant long hours sitting at a screen. What began as a few casual classes with friends soon became a deeper wellness journey. Yoga offered not just a path back to movement, but a more holistic way of living—one that’s grounded, nourishing, and awake. Oldriska was drawn to yoga teacher training to deepen her own practice, but it wasn’t long before the idea of teaching others took root. A friend suggested she host a session at a conference, and something clicked. Teaching felt like a calling—especially once she started thinking about time differently. One of her biggest personal inspirations is Four Thousand Weeks: Time Management for Mortals by Oliver Burkeman. The book invites readers to accept the limits of our time on Earth—roughly 4,000 weeks in an average life—and to let go of the pressure to do it all. Instead, it’s about choosing what matters most. For Oldriska, yoga embodies that philosophy. It’s a way of slowing down, paying attention, and spending time with purpose. Her classes are upbeat, supportive, and infused with youthful energy. She’s especially excited about making yoga more accessible through offerings like chair yoga—perfect for older adults, people who spend too much time sitting, or anyone looking for a gentler way to move. Raised in a small Czech community in Texas, Oldriska found chosen family and a deep sense of belonging in Maine. That experience informs her teaching and her presence—she offers compassion freely and creates a space where everyone feels safe, seen, and accepted. She doesn’t take herself too seriously, but she takes her role as a guide seriously: to help others connect to their bodies, breath, and sense of purpose—one week, one class, one moment at a time. |
