FUUTURE camp at Ferry Beach for youth entering 10th, 11th or 12th grade is a week long program where older teens can become part of an intentional, caring and connected community built on self expression and mutual respect.  This is an enriching week where the older youth are able to explore and develop their UU identity as they move toward young adulthood. This year, youth will choose from three specifically focused Morning tracks. Participants will work together during the week, forming bonds and supporting each other through the challenges and tasks that arise from the demands of each track.

Outdoor Activities Begin each day by challenging yourself and having fun as you set out with the other members of your group on a different physical activity or excursion. Spend the morning hiking through scenic woodlands or to the end of the jetty, playing ultimate Frisbee, and more.  Experience is not necessary, just a positive attitude and commitment to support the entire team.

Theater Develop and improve your acting skills and raise your awareness about morality and responsibility at the same time. Participants in this track will learn about and explore specific issues of social justice as they work together to create a relevant theatrical performance.

Art (Session 2 only!) Get in touch with your artistic soul.  Extensive artistic talent is not a requirement for this track.  If you have ever wanted to find your artistic muse in a welcoming setting, this is your chance.

Yoga Body, Yoga Mind (Session 1 only!) Yoga is a science of self awareness. In this track we'll explore Yogic practices: postures, meditations, breathwork and more. We'll learn some of Yoga's mythic stories that transform postures into a lens for deeper self awareness. We'll create journals as we delve into an exploration of our own inner landscape: physical, mental and emotional. Everyone and every shape is welcome: no prior knowledge of yoga is necessary.

Afternoons will consist of stand-alone daily workshops planned and implemented together by youth and adult staff.  Some workshops could include worship planning, yoga, Mandela drawing, active games, dance, discussion groups, or jam sessions if you play a musical instrument or sing.

Evenings will be spent relaxing and socializing during planned activities including a beach bonfire on the Fourth of July, a bridging ceremony for seniors, the weekly Ferry Beach talent/no talent show and attending the performance of the theater track and art presentation. This year, come to a camp with a purpose; come for friendship, personal growth, new experiences and just plain fun.
