Kids for the Earth
Nature Camp for grades 4-6 as of September, 2010
Session I: June 26 - July 3, 2010
Session II: July 3 - July 10, 2010

Are you ready for a wonderful week? If you are a fourth, fifth or sixth grader looking for adventure, mystery and fun, Kids for the Earth is for you. If you’re a returning camper or brand new you’ll feel welcome in this community and best of all, you’re sure to have a great time. Mornings begin with a 7:00 a.m. Polar Bear Swim (optional), followed by: Breakfast, Morning Ecology Rotations with Naturalists, Lunch and Siesta, Afternoon Choice Time, Dinner, and Evening Programming.

You’ll explore the beach at low tide in search of sand dollars, shells, and other treasures, venture into our coastal forest learning about plants and wildlife as you go. You’ll climb onto rocky tide pools to find crabs and sea stars. You’ll work on a service project and have a surprise field trip sure to provide you with an exciting learning experience. Afternoons are filled with fun activity choices for campers. Newcomb (a variation of volleyball), sandcastle contests, beach combing, art in the art room or on the beach, quiet time for reading or card games on the lovely wrap around porch of Quillen, ice cream at our famous ice cream stand and more but the fun doesn’t stop there. In the evening we have a fun filled game night, movie night with popcorn, a campfire sing along with s’mores, fun on the beach, and our popular Talent/No Talent Show. This is an opportunity for anyone to share musical talents, dance, short skits, karate, jokes or any other talent/no talent you possess. And if you’re not on stage we need an audience. That’s a good place to be too.

Our ecologists are knowledgeable and fun. They have a wealth of information to share and really neat hands-on activities for you to enjoy. Counselors are experienced. Most are returning counselors, many are parents and their children come to the Ferry Beach Camps. We can tell you first hand, Kids for the Earth is GREAT!!! For all returning campers we can’t wait to see you again. To all new campers, WELCOME, WELCOME! Sign up soon as spaces are limited. We’ll see you there!!!!!!!!
