2010 Registration Guidelines
(please read before proceeding to register)
Registration opens January 4, 2010 for Life Members and Annual
Members, providing first choice for rooms and campsites. You can
become a member when you register. Registration opens for all others
on January 25, 2010.

Early Registration Discount: Payments made in full
by March 31 receive a 5% discount!
Cancellation Policy: More than 2 weeks prior to your scheduled visit, the $100 per person deposit (or full payment received) will be refunded less a $50 processing fee. Within 2 weeks prior to your scheduled visit, the $100 per person deposit will be withheld; all other monies will be refunded. Once the scheduled visit period begins refunds will not be made.
Registering for Kids for the Earth,
Different Drummers, and FUUTURE: We will
have two weeks in a row of Kids for the Earth, Different
Drummers, and FUUTURE. If you have more than one family
member attending camp and you want them to attend the same week (or
not the same week!) be sure to register early so that we have room
to accommodate your family’s scheduling needs. “Early” in this case
means “January.” Registration for Ferry Beach Members (Life and
annual) opens January 4. Registration for all others opens January
25.
To provide the Ferry Beach camp experience to as many as
possible, a camper may register for only one week of the two offered
before March 31. A camper may register for the second week after March
31.

Vacationers: Vacationers (no conference participation) wishing to stay 3 or more nights are welcome to register for the summer beginning on April 1, 2009. Vacationers wishing to stay less than 3 nights are welcome to register within two weeks of the days they wish to stay. We reserve the right to relax this policy during non-peak times.
Daily rates for vacationers are available
here.
Lodging Requests: Room and site requests are honored
when possible, in the order received, subject to availability, room
capacities and the accessibility needs of all our guests. Single
occupancy is available for a premium.
Accessibility: The Underwood dormitory has an accessible first floor and a large, ADA compliant bathroom. Based on our lodging requests policy, FBPA will do the utmost to set aside this area for guests having accessibility needs.
Summer Staff Volunteers:
Volunteers organize and run conferences at Ferry Beach. All of the
coordinators, workshop leaders, and children’s program leaders are
volunteers. Besides our eternal gratitude, they also earn benefits
during the conference.
Coordinators plan the conference and recruit
workshop leaders, children’s program leaders, and sometimes the Minister
and Musician of the Week. They start planning the conference the autumn
before so that marketing materials can be prepared before registration
begins. We have one coordinator for every 50 participants,
approximately. (The
largest conferences have four coordinators, the smallest have one.) Coordinators attend their conference at no charge and their family
members pay only for meals. The benefit applies only to family members
staying in the same room or campsite.
Workshop leaders and children’s program leaders
work with smaller groups within the conference; we have about one for
every twelve to fifteen participants. They also attend at no charge. Family benefits, though, depend on the accommodations. If the family
stays in a dorm room (Quillen, Underwood, or Rowland) there is no family
benefit. Family members pay for accommodations, meals, and conference
fee. If the family camps in the Grove, family members pay only for
meals.
A family vacation camping at Ferry Beach becomes
much more affordable when a parent volunteers. A family with one
volunteer can come to Ferry Beach at no charge if they camp and prepare
their own meals.
Youth Camp volunteers are responsible for the
young people in their care “24/7” and we recognize that with additional
benefits. Youth Camp coordinators receive the same coordinator benefits
described above plus, during the same summer, a free conference
(accommodations, meals, conference fee) for oneself AND a free
conference for one child. Counselors receive the same benefits but
choose between a free conference for oneself OR for one child.
