Ferry Beach Welcomes Hilary Green as Our New Office Manager and Registrar
Hilary Green, formerly the UUA Mass Bay District Administrator, is the new Ferry Beach Office Manager and Registrar. Hilary, who is married to Ferry Beach Art Director Ted Green, brings a wealth of experience to the Ferry Beach year round staff. She also brings a commitment to Unitarian Universalism, a wonderful big smile, and a warm personality that will be a welcoming presence in the summer office.

Hilary“It is important to me to be working at a UU institution and it is especially important to be here at Ferry Beach where we touch so many lives,” Hilary said.

With all of the numerous possible ways to register at Ferry Beach (Grove with meals, Grove with lunch only, conferee staying in Quillen, vacationer staying in Quillen, workshop leader in Underwood, etc.), people have joked that we need a rocket scientist to keep things straight. Well, with Hilary’s arrival, we have our rocket scientist!

Hilary earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Northeastern University in electrical engineering. She then worked for Raytheon as a radar systems engineer and received a Master’s Degree in electrical engineering from Tufts University. After ten years at Raytheon, Hilary felt that she could no longer in good conscience work in the defense industry. She wanted to do something more “life affirming.”

Hilary moved on to information technology at Genzyme for a few years working with computer systems and data bases. Still she wanted to work in an even more socially positive – more “do gooder” as Hilary put it – environment and went to work for the Arts Alliance in Hudson, Massachusetts. For the past two years she has served and has been highly regarded as the District Administrator at the Mass Bay District.

Hilary and Ted Green first came to CBD Week (now UU Fellowship & Fun) in 2002. Two summers ago Ted became the Ferry Beach Art Director. They are members of the UU Church of Marlborough-Hudson but soon will be church shopping in the Saco area. They have three children, Emilyn Green, Bridget Sullivan, and Fiona Green.

Hilary began working in the winter office at 5 Morris Avenue on October 15. “I love the energy among the full time staff and I am thrilled to be included in this little group. There is an excitement in what is happening at Ferry Beach and I hope to add to the energy,” she said. The full time staff is equally thrilled that Hilary is a part of the Ferry Beach year round team! Welcome Hilary!
