“As we work to create light for others, we naturally light our own way.”
-Mary Anne Radmacher
Come gather with women for a week filled with friendship, spiritual exploration, creativity, laughter, and renewal as we connect deeply in the love of sisterhood and the beauty of Ferry Beach. Through community gatherings, daily workshops, check-in groups, the creation of collaborative art, and afternoon and evening activities, we will create our Beloved Community.
In the Company of Women Mission Statement:
We are a welcoming, intentional community of women; we gather in a
safe space to support and inspire each other on our spiritual journeys.
Participants from prior summers have reported that:
“In the Company of Women, I could let my hair down and be myself. “
“My laughter was uninhibited.”
“When I spoke I felt heard.”
“There’s no issue with different paths (Pagan/Christian, Lesbian /Straight/Bi/Trans,etc.,) because what we have in common is who we are as women.”
Nature Exploration- Ferry Beach Wildlife Biologist Sue Schaller, will provide activities related to the nature of the Maine coast.
In addition, each afternoon you may choose from one of these scheduled late afternoon groups:
The Healing Sea- a generic 12-Step Program group
The Goddess Circle- an informal gathering open to all women, a place to create Sacred Space together, a place for Stillness and deep sharing.
Women Loving Women- a discussion group for lesbian/bisexual/questioning women.
Free Spirits-using the traditional Chalice Circle, or Covenant Group structure, this is a safe space for listening deeply to ourselves and each other.
Additional spontaneous activities may include drumming circles, porch chats, trips to Portland, and beach “therapy”. Or simply time for rest and relaxation!
Also, there will be some Circle of Music afternoon and evening activities that will be open to our conference, including a Sacred Circle Dance.
Evenings feature community events: a movie sing-along, a Coffeehouse as well as the Talent/No Talent Show with our partner conference Circle of Music; a game night (with a Sing-Down and Charades), and a Women’s Ritual. Afterwards, join others in quiet socializing, playing board games, or going down to the beach to wish on falling stars.
